Abstract :
The musical form is not a simple combination of different elements of a musical whole no a structural covering of the musical discourse. It is a multidimensional phenomenon that reflects the evolution of the different styles of composition of Arabic music. According to our experience of teaching the forms of Arab music, we present in this article a simple but thorough approach based on four stages; Conscious listening, destructuring of form, identification of relations and functions, comparative criticism, and the theoretical definition.
